1948 - 2016

JoAnn S. Brunner, 68, of Mechanicsburg, loving wife, mother and friend to many, passed away on Thursday December 29, 2016 at Claremont Transitions in Carlisle.  Born on February 9, 1948 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Jane (Austen) Sauerwine, Jr.  JoAnn was a 1966 graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg.  She went on to receive her Associates degree from Harrisburg Area Community College.  She was retired from Truck Parts Plus in Mechanicsburg where she was the office manager.  JoAnn was a longtime member of the Camp Hill Church of God where she held various positions and was involved in many organizations.  Besides her devotion to the Lord and her church, her true joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.  She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gary W. Brunner, of Mechanicsburg; three sons, Gary W. Brunner, Jr. and his wife Kristin, of Camp Hill; Joseph R. Brunner and his wife Brenda, of Dillsburg; and Michael J. Brunner and his wife Rachel, of Lebanon; a brother, James H. Sauerwine and his wife Arlene, of Florida; a sister, Jennifer R. Gummo and her husband John, of Lewisberry; seven grandchildren, Kinsey, Logan, Hayley, Cassidy, Colby, Harrison, and Lincoln.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Michelle Brunner. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday January 7, 2017 at the Camp Hill Church of God, 123 N. 21st., Camp Hill, with Pastor Robert Malick officiating.  A viewing will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday January 6, 2017 in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, and also on Saturday January 7th in the Church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service.  Burial will follow the service in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Hill Church of God, 123 N. 21St St. Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
